QR's Revenge

Author: @OxC0FFEE (Kim Slawson)
Category: ATASCII
System: ATARI 800

Description:
Is that a Qotile encoding or are you happy to scan me? Inspired by Harold
Scott Warshaw's tour de force 1982 game, Yar's Revenge, on the Atari VCS.

Notes:
Scan the code using your mobile device. You'll be treated to some Yar's
Revenge inside baseball.

Works in emulation (tested in Atari800MacX 6.0.0) and on a real Atari
(tested on my childhood 130XE with a Radio Shack CRT).

Comments:
Created using Playscii with ATASCII Exporter.

YouTube URL shortened and QR-codified, then inverted, compared bit by bit in
Photoshop, and converted by hand to ATASCII (sadly, there is no character in
ATASCII having opposing diagonal blocks, like this:
 #
#
so I had to cheat a little bit with the diagonal lines. Happily, it works!

As an aside, imagine if Atari had included a checkerboard character. Just
this one character (well, two if you count the inverse variant) would have
allowed for half-width bitmap-in-text graphics, giving 80x50 resolution in
mode zero. Yes, I know you can easily redefine the character set, but
defaults have inertia! C'est la vie.
